We have added a growing palette of standard foil and holofoil options over the past several years. And in 2025, we took your art to new heights with the introduction of our embossed metal covers and prints.

But what if you could combine the vibrant colors and patterns of foil with the shiny, premium feel of metal?

Today, Ready Comics is incredibly excited to answer this question with the launch of our newest product: Forged Foil Metal!

First unveiled to the world at Swornfest 2026, Forged Foil Metal stands out from ordinary covers and prints. The base colors are printed on metal, either via our glossy sublimation, matte surface printing, or even our next-level embossed metal. Then, similar to our spot foil process, a foil of your choice is applied to select portions of the base. This technique is perfect for logos, signatures, or accent elements in your art!

There are many types of foil to choose from, including Silver, Gold, Holofoil Chrome, Holofoil Crystal, and so much more. Keep an eye out as we continue to add even more foil types in the near future!

Do note that for cover file setup, we require a minimum of two files: a base color image and a black and white spot foil image, where black pixels represent the portions of the art you want the foil to be applied to. If you wish to add spot white to the cover as well, a spot white image will also need to be provided. This file is set up identically to the spot foil image, where black pixels represent which parts of the art should contain spot white, and the rest of the image should be white pixels. Finally, if you selected embossed metal as the style of printing, we recommend that you provide an additional grayscale image. For this file, anything pure black is completely raised, and anything white is not raised at all. Different shades of gray result in different levels of embossment (darker = more, lighter = less). If a grayscale file image is not submitted, an in-house file will be created instead.

NOTE: Don’t forget to add 0.125 inches of bleed on all sides of your files!
